| It's the day when WWI officially ended. It's known as: Veterans day in the U.S., Remembrance Day in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Nations (such as Canada and Australia), Independence in Poland, |

| Yep, it's a big thing. It was when the treaty was signed on November 11, 1918. It ended World War One. |

| Yep! It's a really big holiday where I am!!! I always take the time on the 11th and remember all the people who died for us.....I think that's the right thing to do, considering they gave their lives for us!

| It Is a Huge holiday in Canada and I think it should be. It is a time to thank all that fought in the war and to remember those that died. We wear poppies to signify that we remember and we go to the local cenotaph for a parade the last post and speakings. LEST WE FORGET! |

| Yes as KImember mentioned we treat it as a very important holiday. I come from a family with a large military background. 2 of my grandparents and many of my great aunts and uncles fought during WWII.
In my town the ceremony occurs at the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month.
November 11 is known officially as Armistice Day, but more commonly referred to as Remembrance Day or Veteran's Day. In Canada it is the equivalent to Memorial Day in the US. |

| You know, I have never figured out why we have both Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. Very odd isn't it? |

| Well, Memorial Day is for those who died protecting us, and Veteran's Day is for all veteran's who risk (or have given) their lives keeping us safe and free. So basically one is for the soldiers who died, and the other is for all soldiers. Hope I made sense. |
