I thought it would be fun to begin a Winter Olympics discussion thread. We can chat about anything Winter Olympics related. What did you think about the opening ceremony? Upsets and accomplishments, what do you think? What are your favorite sports to watch? Who are you rooting for?

Me, personally, I'm a big fan of speed skating. Of course, I also love figure skating and alpine skiing. So much to watch, so little time.

Congratulations to our Canadian friends on their first gold medal in Canadian games! Way to go! That was exciting!

The opening ceremony was great! Although, I didn't see the whole thing, I saw most of it and it was so nice. I feel great for all of those athletes who get to be in the olympics.

I love skiiing. I was watching the speed skiing was it? There was one person I really liked, and then she won a gold medal and I was very excites.

Oh my gosh yes! I didn't get a chance to watch the opening ceramonies, () but I heard they were awesome! GO CANADA!!!! LOL! (You can't tell I'm a Canadian, can you? )

I don't really mind what country gets the medals.. Canada is only a couple hours away..

First off I have to congratulate Alex on his win for Canada! Great Job getting Gold for Canada on home turf! I look forward for more metal from our Canadian Athletes. Now I have to rant on the opening ceremonies. I did not like the anthem, She was a good signer but the version was poor. I did not like how you could not sing along. I also did not like the violinists. I felt the outfits were exotic and the tattoos hair etc was weird. I feel a more classic performance would have been a better fit. I did find though that it showcased our natives very well! I enjoyed the ceremonies a lot and enough with the ranting. I love the Olympics and can't wait to see some more metals from Canada and other countries. Go Canada!

I especially loved when the whales went across the floor. That was amazing! And I also liked the boy who flew across the prairie scenes. I was especially moved by the story of the torch relay and all of the places it traveled before arriving in Vancouver. So many stories to tell! What a great country.

Yes it passed through our little city months ago and the spirit was amazing! I also loved the whales and the stuff projected on the floors. The only thing is it had to make you mind think but that was cool!

Did anyone actually GO to the Olpympics? I have never gone.. but wouldn't the experience be great! Maybe in a few years or so they will come to a place near me and I can go to maybe the opening ceremonies! LOL! I don't think that will happen though.. the torch passed near me but I didn't know that it was going to pass or anything... GO USA! GO CANADA TOO!
